ABSTRACT/
A stream of food colouring gel waterfalls down through less viscous water. Droplets form due to the friction between the gel and water increasing the area of interaction between the two fluids. The edges of the droplets parachute outwards due to the drag shearing away the outer layer and causing an inversion of the droplet turning it inside out. These inverted droplets, like smoke rings slow down relative to the stream above, allowing tailing droplets to catch up. What results is a dance of droplets, enveloping one another, spreading out in a pattern of decoherence.
